Just 5 minutes stand between you and this quirky Japanese Strawberry Salami Salad. A light and fresh salad set to BLOW your taste buds out the water.
So yesterday we finally threw down some coins for two new desks and are all officially set up with our first home office everrr.
As much as I loved perching in random coffee bars, shopping malls and guesthouse windowsills (yep!) for that next sweet hit of wifi connection on the road, it’s such a good feeling to be sitting here writing this in our own dedicated work space, our modem blinking happily by our side.
The life of a blogger is so glamourous haha.
Apart from cooking and eating (all for your benefit, promise!) and endless refills of our favourite teas through the day (oh my god tie guan yin get on it), the best part of working from home would have to be endless free puppy cuddles.
Although I have to admit that sometimes it is hard to stay focussed when Bonnie is over there woofing and twitching in her sleep.
THAT FACE. Ahh the cuuuuuuteness.
Anyway back to business. 😀
Yep, it’s another Super Simple Saturday but today is extra special because it’s Easter! Hope you’re all having an awesome day wherever you are and ready for a weekend of wandering adventures, family fun or just plain old chilling at home (which is seriously the best plan).
Whatever you’re doing, we hope there’s a good dose of cooking in there too.
In case you’re in need of some quirky inspiration, today we’ve got a brand new combination coming to you all the way from Japan. It’s another of Akko’s zany Japanese creations, just like these 5 Minute Honeyed Pepper Clove Strawberries.
Japanese Strawberry Salami Salad
Joining our strawberries are – wait for it – slivers of spicy salami (!!), shreds of baby spinach, cracklings of black pepper and a good drizzling of olive oil.
Each ingredient balances the other in perfect Japanese harmony, while the olive oil brings out the amazing flavour potential locked away inside.
I know I know. I KNOW how it sounds. It sounds CRAZY.
But what it actually is, is seriously GOOD. We even got our housemate’s seal of approval.

- 2 handfuls baby spinach, shredded
- black pepper
