A simplified version of the traditional Italian Easter cake. No messy kneading and no waiting for dough to rise!

NO YEAST - QUICK PREP

You will need

Beat the egg whites until fluffy.

Mix the dough ingredients and (optional) candied peel.

Gently fold in the egg whites.

Pour into prepared mould or cake dish. Drizzle sugar syrup.

Top with almonds.  Bake for 50 mins or  until cooked through.
