Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl add the coconut, mixed fruit and rice bubbles, giving everything a quick mix.
1 cup desiccated coconut, 1 cup mixed fruit, 1 cup rice bubbles / rice krispies
  • In a medium glass bowl, break the Caramilk chocolate into pieces, pour over the sweetened condensed milk and heat in 20-30 second bursts in the microwave for around 1-2 minutes. Important: Stir each time to help the chocolate melt evenly and mix with the sweetened condensed milk. If the chocolate seizes at any point, add a 2 tbsp at a time of boiling water and mix through quickly until a smooth texture is achieved.
2 blocks Caramilk chocolate, 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Once completely melted and smooth, pour over the dry mix and stir very quickly as the chocolate will start to harden.
  • Pour and press out into a baking paper lined baking tin or dish. Spread the mix out, then use the back of a spoon or spatula to press and flatten. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into small slices.

Notes

  • Heating - You can heat the chocolate and condensed milk over low heat on the stove top rather than the microwave if you prefer.
  • Work Quickly - Chocolate cools and hardens quick, so the faster you work, the easier it is to press the slice into the tray.
  • Grease the Paper - Learn from us 😅, grease your tin THEN put down the baking paper so it's not sliding everywhere when you're trying to press the slice. Super annoying!
  • Add Nuts - Like extra crunch? Whether it's roasted macadamias, pistachios, slivered almonds or just your favourite bunch of mixed nuts - they all go so well in this slice.
  • More Texture - You can double the amount of rice bubbles if you want more texture, and even throw in another half a cup of fruit if want an added hint of sweetness.
