So… Sarah has a confession.

The first time she tried Yakisoba, she was ridiculously hungover on the 46th floor of the Umeda Sky Building, about to watch the summer festival fireworks.

So it was a little crazy here over the weekend… We actually saw blue sky and felt warm sun on our faces – something we haven’t experienced in what feels like weeks around here.

Maybe spring is on the way? Or maybe it’s just a brief, balmy escape before grey clouds return and rain falls once more?

Either way, it’s enough to have us daydreaming about hot summer days that are hopefully on their way.

And I don’t know about you, but when we think summer, we think hamburgers. Like these juicy, homemade beef hamburgers that have been tricked up with a few mouth-watering Japanese flavours.

Oh yeah.

Okay, first let me fess up that I’m TOTALLY ADDICTED to Korean Tteokbokki. (Pronounced kind of like to-bok-ki)

It has everything I love about Asian cuisine: intense flavour, a strangely addictive chewy texture and a spicy kick.

Seriously, if anyone asked me what to cook for dinner, my selfish taste buds would recommend Korean Tteokbokki every time.

Even if Sarah just wants to roll her eyes. 😛
