You will need

Simmer the sugar with water and cinnamon stick to make the syrup.

Whip the egg yolks with sugar until creamy and pale yellow.

Add flour, salt, walnuts, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Whip the egg whites into soft peaks.

Gently fold egg whites into walnut mixture 1 scoop at a time.

Pour into baking dish, bake until golden brown (around 45 mins)

Pour cold syrup over hot cake in batches, allow each batch to absorb.

Once cooled, slice into diamond pieces.
